SMP for Scarring
Hair transplants are the most common cause of scarring on the scalp, although they can be caused by injury. There are two different types of hair transplants, and both of them cause different scarring.
Fue is follicular unit extraction, which is the removal of individual grafts from the donor area of the scalp leaving many small circular scars in the area.
FUT is follicular unit transplantation, and it is where the grafts are removed from the donor area altogether in one big strip, leaving a long strip scar across the donor area.
SMP for scarring is where microdots of pigment are implanted in and around the scar to blend the replicated follicles with the natural hair follicles. This reduced the contrast between the skin and hair, leaving the scarring unnoticeable to those unaware it was there in the first place.
Another possible benefit of SMP is that implanting a needle numerous times into the damaged skin can help restore some health to the area.
